The Application of LED

The application area of LED is very widely, mainly including communication, customer electronic, automobile, lighting, signal lamp, etc. In general, it is divided into five areas, such as backlight, lighting, electronic equipment, display screen and automobile.

1. Automobile: Both the internal and external of automobile are used LED. The application of internal part contains dashboard, loudspeaker box and other indicator lamp, while the external part includes safety light, left and right rear light, directional light, and so on. At present, in the various series of European automobile, Audi, BMW and Forth are applied to highlight LED. Besides, Toyota is also the first to change the back light of dashboard into highlight LED. There's no exception about the other automobile brands.  
2. Backlight: It is mainly used in the backlight of mobile phone, which is the biggest market of SMD product application. Even though the growth rate of mobile phone is obviously slow in the recent two years, it's estimated that there's about 400 million per year. Each mobile phone needs two pieces LED backlight and six pieces of SMD LED. Therefore, 400 million mobile phones totally need 3200 million pieces of LED.
3. Display screen: As an emerging presentation medium, LED display screen has developed rapidly with the high speed progress of large scale integrated circuit and computer technology. Compared with traditional display medium, it has already been widely used in every walk of life with the advantage of highlight, good effect of display, low failure, little energy consumption, long lifetime, various of display contents, rich method of display, cost performance, etc.  
4. Electronic equipment and lighting: Depending on the feature of little energy consumption, small volume and long lifetime, LED has become the first choice of various indicators light of electronic equipment. So far, nearly all electronic equipment has needed LED.
In terms of lighting, LED has become the essential part of outside and industrial light, including led high bay, led area light, LED flood light, etc. With the increase of luminous efficiency and decrease of price, it would be accepted by more and more people.
